The Schulthess Klinik in Zurich is one of the leading orthopaedic clinics in Europe with a staff of over 1100. In Switzerland and beyond, the Schulthess Klinik is regarded as a symbol of innovative medicine and outstanding patient service. The desire to help people is shared by all employees at the clinic and creates the highest level of trust and well-being for patients. The clinic focuses on surgical orthopaedics, neurology, rheumatology and sports medicine including physiotherapy, with the patient group ranging from young to old and from amateur to professional athletes.
As a forward-thinking clinic, the Schulthess Klinik has the ambition to provide both patients and employees with up-to-date tools and solutions and therefore approaches the topic of digitalisation consciously and proactively.
"Covid19 has acted as a turbo booster here and shows that digital solutions are absolutely applicable in everyday life and that, above all, they are also accepted - by medical professionals as well as patients."
"For us, it is a completely logical development that has long been foreseeable - Covid19 has acted as a turbo booster here and shows that digital solutions are absolutely applicable in everyday life and that, above all, they are also accepted - by medical professionals as well as patients," says Stefan Lienhard, Digital Manager of the Schulthess Klinik.
In 2018, a physiotherapist at the clinic recommended Physitrack and the clinic quickly decided to integrate the platform into its daily routine, replacing the analogue exercise prescription on paper with a digital one. The company's own custom app, the "Schulthess Coach", has since offered clinic staff the opportunity to accompany patients through the healing process with exercise programs and other content. The chat function and the possibility of uploading one's own exercises ensures that every patient receives a tailor-made treatment. According to Lienhard, the patients' feedback on the app has been consistently positive.
As the Schulthess Klinik is always striving to develop further and improve existing solutions and processes, the close relationship and transparent communication with Physitrack is particularly valued. As a result, the clinic not only benefits from the general further development of the platform, but can also actively shape the development itself through input and suggestions for optimisation.
In the future, the Schulthess Klinik wants to make even better use of the possibilities offered by Physitrack - especially through the stronger integration of outcome measures and elements of telehealth - and thus raise the bar for modern therapy even higher.
"We look forward to our journey ahead and are excited to see where it will take us!"
